ADF Workplace Remuneration Arrangement

The ADF Workplace Remuneration Arrangement (WRA) is the framework that sets out the annual increases to salary and salary-related allowances for all ADF personnel, including star ranks.

The current WRA, which has delivered an 11.2 per cent salary increase over the past three years, is due to expire on November 4.

Defence has engaged with the Australian Government for a new WRA. An initial one-year WRA, for a 3 per cent pay increase, will be presented to the Defence Force Remuneration Tribunal (DFRT) at a hearing in September.

If the DFRT accepts the proposal for the WRA, the increase will commence from November 5. It will be reflected in the pay of ADF personnel on November 19. This will bring the total increase in ADF salaries from November 2023 – November 2026 to 14.2 per cent.

Following the initial one-year WRA, Defence will present a supplementary submission to the DFRT for a further two years.
