Pacific Partnership 14 Community Outreach Event

Australian, United States and New Zealand defence members teamed up to play a friendly soccer match against a local Timorese team during Exercise Pacific Partnership 2014 in Dili, East Timor.

On 14 Jun 2014 members of Pacific Partnership 14 (PP14) played football with a local Timor-Leste football squad during a community outreach event at Comoro Football Field as part of Pacific Partnership 2014. The PP14 team comprised of US, Australian and New Zealand defence force members.

PP14 is an annual United States (US) Pacific Command (PACOM)-sponsored mission that aims to strengthen international relationships, improve host nation resilience to natural disasters providing humanitarian and civic action programs that strive to improve critical infrastructure, and support host nation programs that provide health, education, and common services to local populations.

Australian Defence Force construction engineers and medical practitioners deployed on PP14 to provide humanitarian and civic assistance across the South East Asia region from 24 May to 21 July 2014.
