Restaurant-quality meals are the order of the day for the ship’s company and embarked forces in HMAS Tobruk in the Philippines.

Petty Officer Maritime Logistics – Chef Iain James attributes this to the “can-do attitude and exceptional leadership” shown by the leading seamen in his department.

“Since deploying to the Philippines the catering department’s workload has effectively doubled,” he said.

“The 17-member team works in extremely hot, arduous conditions for long periods and is performing extraordinarily well.

“I know and expect my staff will continue to provide tasty and highly nutritional meals that will always impress our newfound crew members.”

Chef James said he was overwhelmed with pride and admiration for the way his team had been performing.

“They are a credit to the Navy and the Maritime Logistic department,” he said.

“Seaman Maritime Logistics - Chef Karlee Rance only finished her category training two weeks before joining the ship, and her courage, attitude and work ethic have impressed me greatly.”
