DLA Piper Review of Management of Allegations of Unacceptable Behaviour: No Defence "veto" on police referral

There has been some recent media interest in the role that the Australian Defence Force Investigative Service (ADFIS) is performing in support of the DLA Piper Review of Allegations of Sexual and Other Abuse in Defence.

The terms of reference for the Review provide for the Review team to refer any matters requiring urgent referral to police to ADFIS and that ADFIS is to keep the Review team informed of steps taken in relation to those matters.

There has been confusion and as a result concern about ADFIS role in supporting DLA Piper.  Specific matters are addressed here
