Three Australian soldiers wounded in Afghanistan 8 November 2011

Defence can confirm three Australian soldiers were wounded in an incident in the region of Charmestan, Afghanistan on the afternoon of 8 November 2011 local time (Afghanistan).

Although the wounds are serious all three soldiers are in a stable condition.

Defence is currently consolidating information from the area of operations and will provide further details when the facts are available and confirmed. No further details on the incident will be released at this time.

Families of the wounded soldiers have been notified.
