Disposal of the surplus Defence property known as Fortuna in Bendigo

8 May 2013

The highest bidder at the 12 April auction of the Fortuna property in Bendigo could not complete the contract.

Following discussions with other interested parties, on 7 May 2013 Mr Paul Banks signed a contract to purchase the Fortuna property for $2.21 million. The deposit monies have been received and the sale is scheduled for completion on 27 June 2013.

The heritage covenant to protect the Commonwealth heritage values of the Fortuna property will remain in the contract of sale.
