Defence signs major warehousing and distribution contract with Linfox

19 December 2013

Defence today signed a contract for warehousing and distribution services with established logistics and supply chain business, Linfox Australia Pty Ltd (Linfox).

The warehousing and distribution services contract is a milestone agreement that will underpin efficiency reforms in the Australian Defence Force logistics network.

The contract is for the provision of Australian warehousing and distribution services of all Defence inventory handled through Defence logistics units across Australia, with the exception of explosive ordnance.

The contract is for an initial term of five years, with extension options.

Following a period of transition in the first half of 2014, the warehousing and distribution services contract will replace three existing Defence contracts for warehousing and distribution which are due to expire 30 June 2014.

It is anticipated that the consolidated approach will provide a streamlined service for Defence.
