Defence provides Williamtown human health risk assessment to NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA)

20 July 2016

Defence has provided the draft report of the Williamtown human health risk assessment to the NSW EPA.

The human health risk assessment contains a comprehensive analysis of pathways for human exposure to per- and poly-flouroalkyl substances (PFAS) in the Williamtown investigation area.

It complements the environmental site assessment report, which shows where PFAS have been detected on and in the vicinity of RAAF Base Williamtown.

Defence understands that the NSW EPA and the Williamtown Expert Panel will review the human health risk assessment and the environmental site assessment reports in the coming weeks.

Defence remains committed to providing information to the EPA and Expert Panel and to the Williamtown community.

Subject to review of these reports by the EPA and the Expert Panel, Defence will conduct community information sessions to explain the results of the investigations.
