ADF Airborne capability

21 April 2011

No decision has been made to cancel ADF Airborne capability.

The ADF Airborne capability is being reviewed in the broader context of how Defence can provide greater flexibility for force rotations, enhance the availability of forces for contingencies, and further the development of joint operations.

The review is not driven by budget constraints, but rather is about how Army’s capability can be employed more efficiently and how Defence can provide greater strategic flexibility to Government.

The ADF airborne operations capability has been the subject of numerous reviews and senior committee discussions since 2003.
