Changes to distribution of medallions

Defence Clothing Stores will become the procurement and distribution point for Service Medallions from July 1.

The move aims to consolidate inventory and distribution of Service Medallions to a triservice system.

Service Medallions are presented to eligible members on transition out of the ADF.

They are part of Defence’s response to a recommendation from the Royal Commission into Defence and Veterans Suicide.

Requests for individual or small quantities of medallions are submitted using Form AB189 – Unit Stores Requisition.

Requests for larger quantities are processed through ERP by logistics personnel within units or administration centres by raising a stock transfer request.

Navy has a separate policy for Service Medallions. Where there are differences between this guidance and Navy policy, extant Navy process takes primacy.

It is expected Navy medallions will be incorporated into the ADF clothing store distribution later this year.
