A private funeral service will be held today for Lance Corporal Luke Gavin in the Townsville area.
At the request of the family, media will not be permitted inside the venue.
The family asks the media to understand and respect their need for privacy at this difficult time. A selection of imagery will be made available to the media after the ceremony.
Lance Corporal Gavin was killed on operations in Afghanistan on 29 October 2011.
A Ramp Ceremony was held at RAAF Amberley on 6 November 2011 to welcome home Lance Corporal Luke Gavin along with Captain Bryce Duffy and Corporal Ashley Birt.
The funeral service will be attended by Lance Corporal Gavin’s family, friends and Army representatives.
